Christine Calvert (teacher and module facilitator) is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and a certified Holotropic Breathwork® facilitator. She is the founder of Tribe, a conscious sober living home for men in Austin, TX, focusing on a transpersonal and Holotropic approach to recovery and healing. In addition to bringing Holotropic Breathwork® and other experiential workshops to mental health and addiction facilities, she is passionate about the ethics and integrity needed in facilitating expanded-state work; supporting the integration of Holotropic and psychedelic sessions through somatic resourcing; and creative expression, personal ritual, and group support. Her own personal healing journey was greatly influenced by the Holotropic perspective and she feels deeply dedicated to sharing this work with those seeking healing.
She enjoys finding ways to weave her personal and professional experience of different therapeutic and spiritual systems such as Shamanism, Somatic Experiencing, Jungian psychology, attachment theory, and mindfulness practices into her work with others. Christine is currently studying to become a Naturopathic Doctor and maintains a private counseling and consulting practice in addition to facilitating Holotropic Breathwork® nationally.
Join us in an exploration of how the Holotropic paradigm and Stan Grof’s cartography of the psyche can be a helpful framework and set of tools for safe and effective psychedelic sitting. We’ll explore the well known concepts used in GTT’s Holotropic Breathwork® facilitator training, such as: our innate inner-healing wisdom, non-directive facilitation, integrity through presence and the idea of healing through amplification of symptoms. Through a hybrid of discussion and experiential practices, we’ll also explore:
“Integration” is a key element in any transformational process, not just within Holotropic Breathwork® but in all aspects of life. This human journey is a continuous exploration, and how we integrate these moments—whether physical, mental, emotional, environmental, or spiritual—shapes us and our relationship to life. Embodied integration practices offer us the opportunity to reflect, learn, and apply the lessons from our past, enabling us to live more consciously and meaningfully in the present, while also allowing us to truly embody the many deaths and re-births we will move through in a lifetime. When we create space to digest and embody these insights, they unfold as somatic wisdom that enriches our daily lives. In this online module, we intend to create a deep and sacred, contemplative yet playful space where we can be present with, and process the understandings that arise from the current shifts working to be metabolized within us. This module will give practices and insights useful for practitioners to use with their clients and participants in whatever modalities they use. We’ll explore through: The art of storytelling and myth weaving Yoga and embodied movement The unfolding of words through the practice of writing The gathering of voices in communal sharing The sacredness of ritual and its timeless embrace The quiet depth of contemplative reflection Although you may attend this Virtual Module as a stand-alone event, there is also an option for those who wish to get full module credit by attending a GTT-approved double breathwork workshop. Up to two Virtual Module+Double Breathwork combinations may be counted toward the requirements for certification. This event consists of seven 3-hour sessions. To enhance the group experience for everyone, please note that you will be expected to attend all 7 sessions of the module just as you would if it were being held live, at a retreat center.
